A Message From The Principal

Welcome to 109th Street Elementary School, home of the Shining Stars!  Writing a “Welcome back!” message means the new school year is right around the corner.  I look forward to working with all of you to make this year successful.

This is my fifth year as Principal of 109th Street Elementary School, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve your children and you once again.  The elementary years are critical times of development for students – they set the foundation for college and beyond (it is never too early to begin planning for college).  Parents play a very important role in a child’s education.  Student learning, academic achievement, and overall success depend heavily on the partnership between parents and the school community.  Working together as partners is a top priority for me!

I encourage you to get involved at 109th Street Elementary School!  There are many opportunities to become a volunteer in our school community (in the classroom, library, main office, on the playground, in the cafeteria, etc.).  Most importantly, we want you to partner with us in the education of your child.  It is important that you stay informed about what your child is learning in school and how you can support their learning at home.  Our school needs your help and support – your role in the classroom is just as important as your role at home!

Warm regards,

Ana Estevez
